The Fifth Space presents: The Art of Remembrence
Can memory be tangible? Does the city have a role in shaping collective memories? The bilateral Polish and Israeli conference The Art of Remembrance is holding a hybrid live and online evening to discuss monuments and the contemporary discourse on their construction. We will be questioning the morality in the physical manifestation of historical events in both Warsaw and Tel Aviv, asking how they still affect modern civil society.
Speaking live at Liebling Haus: Dr. Irit Carmon Popper, curator and researcher; Anat Litwin, curator, artist, researcher and PhD candidate at the Technion, founder of HomeBase Project and UAHP; Udi Edlman, curator and researcher director and chief curator of the Center for Digital Art, Holon. Speaking online from Poland: Beata Chomątowska, author and urban activist; Jakub Szczęsny, architect, and designer; Małgorzata Kuciewicz and Simone de Jacobis from Centrale Group Architects; and sound artist Ania Karpowicz.
The talks are in English. This event is part of the Fifth Space project in the exhibition The Re:public.
The event starts at 18:30 Live at the Liebling haus with a gathering event, the zoom and Facebook live broadcast will start at 19:00 Israel time.
