Liebling Salon: A Story to Preserve
Every building has meaning; sometimes, it comes from the building's use and sometimes from an intriguing story or notable event that occurred there. A building will forever remain a physical manifesto of the story it represents.
On this evening, each conservation manager from Israel's major cities will select three landmark buildings that tell historical stories still relevant today. The department managers will present their chosen story through a single image. By the end of the evening, we will have created a cultural mosaic reflecting our country through the buildings we choose to represent us. We will explore ethical questions concerning conservation, such as what we should preserve, which objects represent our culture, and what narrative we want to convey about our city.
Participants:
Arch. Michelle ‘ Laor (Head of Conservation of Buildings and Sites, Ramat Gan Municipality), Arch. Sharon Dinur (Head of Conservation, Jerusalem Municipality), Arch. Einav Shchory (Head of Conservation, Haifa Municipality), Arch. Jeremie Hoffmann (Head of Conservation, Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality), Roni Zemler (Permit Engineer and Conservation Supervisor, Givatayim Municipality), and Arch.
