From the Research Lab: Urban Planning & Covid 19 - Creating Resilient Public Spaces
While Covid-19 presents challenges to everyday life in urban public space, it also drives change. Today, when most people live in cities, global crises such as the current pandemic require innovative solutions and urban initiatives. Our bilateral dialogue explores emerging ideas and strategies for resilient urban planning in Israel and Switzerland, focusing on municipal and professional aspects: social housing design, inclusive public spaces, promoting multicultural agendas, encouraging communal values, and increasing our engagement with the natural surroundings.
Featuring City Architect of Tel Aviv-Yafo Yoav David, and landscape architect Matanya Sack of Sack-Reicher Architects representing Israel; and landscape architect Jacqueline Parish of Zurich’s municipal Planning Department, and landscape architect and urban designer Robin Winogrond, co-founder of Studio Vulkan Landscape Architecture, representing Switzerland.
